In our latest ‘Meet our Team’ post we’d like to introduce you to Fatmah Alzahraa Elfaramawy, NOC Engineer, who is based in the interTouch office in Egypt.

Could you tell us a little bit about your background?
“I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and lived there until the age of 18 when I moved to my home country Egypt to attend college. I studied at the Electrical Engineering and Communication Faculty and was a member of the IEEE community because of my strong interest in electronics.”

What is the best part of working at interTouch?
“I really enjoy the great team culture we have at interTouch. You can ask anyone for help and colleagues are very easy to approach and always willing to assist, wherever they are based in the world. Because of the great knowledge sharing culture we have in the company, there is an opportunity for continuous learning which I value.”

What are the most exciting parts of your role?
“I like that I am dealing with different types of devices and vendors as well as operating systems. This makes my role very varied and I get the opportunity to learn new things every day.”

What do you see as the biggest trend in (hospitality) technology?
“In my opinion, IoT is the future when it comes to technology in hospitality. It offers a lot of luxury and comfort as well as opportunities for innovation and development combining technology and artificial intelligence.”

What technology do you expect to see in hotels when you travel?
“I expect to see technology that we commonly find in smart homes such as smart lighting products, safety solutions, voice and heat controls, sound systems as well as mobile apps.”

Once we can all travel again, what cities/places/destinations are on your bucket list?

Do you have a role model / mentor in business, and if so, who is it and why?
“I don’t have a specific person as a role model, but I really admire people that have a business strategy and who don’t work haphazardly. I believe they are the most successful and I try to apply this in my life as well.”

What is your favourite business mantra?
“The manager is half the work”, meaning that if the management is successful, the team members will work comfortably and efficiently.

What is your personal learning from the global pandemic?
“The biggest thing I learned from this pandemic is that everyone should have a Plan B and invest time in developing your skills and talents outside of work. We had a lot of time on our hands, and this was a good opportunity to advance our skills and knowledge in any area of interest.”

Tell us something not many people know about you?
