Meet Our Team: Glisha Gleetus And Her Views on Hospitality Technology

This week we had the opportunity to sit down with Glisha Gleetus, our Regional Business Development Manager in the Middle East, based out of the Dubai office.

Could you tell us a little bit about your background?
“I have been fortunate enough to have been bitten by the hospitality bug early in my career and I can now look back on a decade of working in hospitality IT in Dubai. I joined interTouch in May 2018, so three years ago.”

What is the best part of working at interTouch?
“The great teamwork we have at interTouch. It is a great honour to work with such an amazing team. As a team we make great things happen!”

What are the most exciting parts of your role?
“Getting to visit the best hotels and resorts and working with the best brands in the industry. I am proud to be the technology provider for the esteemed hotel partners we work within the region.”

What do you see as the biggest trends in hospitality technology?
“Hospitality technology is ever-evolving. With the current global pandemic, the biggest priority is to minimise the touch points for hotel guests throughout their stay. This means we are witnessing a shift to voice-automated technology and to more BYOD solutions. The second priority right now is to provide very cost-effective solutions and outstanding customer service.”

What is your favourite tech gadget?
“This may sound a little strange but it’s my earbuds; I can’t live without them! More so than listening to music, I use them to cancel the noise while I am working. I also love Siri!

Once we can all travel again, what destination is on your bucket list?
Ooh, I have too many to list here!”

What is your favourite business mantra?
“Relationships matter, not just in life but in business too.”

And your favourite quote?
“To live and let live.”

What is your personal key learning from the Covid-19 pandemic?
“United we stand. When this pandemic struck, the world was brought to its knees. Nothing else prevailed more than compassion and our sense of survival.”

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?
“My phone, a solar charger, and my family.”

What is your superpower?
“I am the official clown!”

What’s your favourite song?
“Wise men say only fools rush in.”

Coffee or tea?
“Tea for my soul and coffee for my brain.”

What historical figure would you have liked to be?
“Cleopatra.”

What’s your guilty pleasure?
“Kunafa.”
